Leutemann, Gottlieb Heinrich (1824 Leipzig - Wittgensdorf 1902). "Studien aus Afrika". Folge von 5 Original-Bleistiftzeichnungen u. 5 lavierten Original-Tuschezeichnungen alle im linken unteren Rand monogrammiert "H. L.". Um 1860. Versch. Formate von 15 x 10,5 bis 20,6 x 14 cm.
Thieme-Becker XXIII, 147. Ries S. 681. LKJ IV, 374. - Hervorragende Arbeiten des bekannten Malers und Zeichners aus dem Besitz des Holzstechers Theodor Knesing (1840 - ca. 1890). Wohl als Vorlagen für Buchillustrationen während einer Afrikareise entstanden. - Die Zeichnungen, mit einer Ausnahme, jeweils im unteren Rand vom Künstler in deutsch (Tusche) oder englisch bezeichnet: "Nubierinnen über eine Stromschnelle schwimmend", (Tusche) - "Inneres einer Nubierhütte zu Omgeh", (Tusche) - "Ein Wadi in der Wüste von Donglah" (Lybien), (Tusche) - "Nubier zu Amgah bei Wadi-Halfah" (Sudan), (Tusche) - Ohne Titel (idealistische Darstellung eines nubischen Potentaten), (Tusche) - "Well near Tadjurra" (Republik Dschibuti) - "Return from the Field and Reception of King by the Priests" - "Wood near Tadjurra" (Tadjoura, Republik Dschibuti) - "Oasis in the valley of Killalu" (Abbysinien) - "Ostrich Hunting at Gira Robi" (Straußen-Jagd). - Leutemann arbeitete seit 1850 als Zeichner und Maler in Leipzig und lieferte die Vorlagen für zahlreiche Bücher, Zeitschriften (Gartenlaube, Leipziger Illustrierte Zeitung, Über Land und Meer u.a.) und die "Münchener Bilderbogen". - Neben einigen literarischen Werken (Reineke Fuchs, Gellerts Fabeln, Grimms Märchen und Sagen) war er besonders als Illustrator zahlreicher Kinder- und Jugendbücher berühmt. - "L.s Spezialität waren Tierbilder, von denen er unzählige Serien für Bilderbücher und zu pädagogischen Zwecken schuf. L. war ein unermüdlicher, gewandter und feiner Zeichner und Aquarellist... L.s Tierbilder und ebenso seine völkerkundlichen, geographischen und historischen Darstellungen fallen durch die auf sorgfältigen Studien beruhende Sachtreue auf, mit der Tiere und menschliche Figuren in ihrem jeweiligen Milieu, ob landschaftliches oder kulturelles, hineingestellt sind... L. konnte von sich sagen, er sei "im volksbildnerischem Sinne tätig" gewesen und habe "anregend und belehrend vor allem auf die deutsche Jugend und damit auf das deutsche Volk gewirkt" (nach Eichler, S. 58)" (E. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
