Spätromantische, koloristisch meisterhaft geschilderte, poetische Landschaft mit Blick auf die Berglandschaft bei Rocca Santo Steffano, im Vordergrund eine kleine, offene Andachtskapelle mit Figuren. Das Gemälde entstand 1856 (oder wenig später) nach einer ausgedehnten Italien-Reise Gurlitts im Jahr 1855, die ihn im Oktober 1855 auch nach Rocca Santo Stefano geführt hatte. Eine größere Version des Gemäldes (93 cm x 127 cm) von 1856 befindet sich im Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz (vormals Neue Galerie der Stadt Linz, Wolfgang Gurlitt-Museum). Der Landschaftsmaler und Grafiker gehört zu den bedeutendsten Künstlern aus dem Umkreis der "Deutschrömer". 1844-1846 hielt sich Gurlitt erstmals länger in Italien auf, in Rom wurde er Mitglied des Deutschen Künstlervereins. Zur Entstehungszeit des vorliegenden Gemäldes lebte und arbeitete Gurlitt in Wien (1851-1860), später u. a. in Gotha (1860-1873), Dresden (1873-1878), die letzten zwei Lebensjahrzehnte in Berlin-Steglitz bzw. in seinem Sommerwohnsitz in Naundorf. Öl/Lwd.; R. u. sign.; Verso auf einem Original-Etikett betitelt, überdies auf dem Keilrahmen; außerdem ein Etikett (Anfang 20. Jh.) mit Bez. "Eigentum der Frau L. Gurlitt Altona Palmaille 61". 60 cm x 87,5 cm. Original-Rahmen.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
