Herkules und der erymanthische Eber
Bronze, dunkelbraun patiniert, 1899/1901. Sign.; Gießerstempel von Martin & Piltzing, Berlin. Frühguss von 1901 oder kurz danach. Im breiten Ausfallschritt stehend wird Herkules ganz als Kraftmensch dargestellt, der den Eber fest gepackt hat. Die von Rodin beeinflusste Gruppe gehört zu den bedeutendsten Werken des Bildhauers, der 1885-1903 in Rom lebte. 1899/1900 schuf er im Rahmen eines von ihm gewonnen Bildhauerwettbewerbs das Modell für eine lebensgroße (nie realisierte) Bronzeversion auf einer Treppenwange in der Nationalgalerie in Berlin. 1901 entstand in Rom ein erster Bronzeguss nach dem kleinen Gipsmodell (Leihgabe in der Kunsthalle Bremen); weitere, 1901 und in den Jahren danach ausgeführte Güsse befinden sich u.a. in der Nationalgalerie in Berlin und im Wallraff-Richartz-Museum in Köln. 1902 zeigte Tuaillon die Bronze erstmals in der 5. Kunstausstellung der Berliner Secession unter dem Titel "Herkules mit dem Eber". Erst um 1910 entstand eine große Marmor-Version; um 1937 ließ die Tochter des Bildhauers Eva Tuaillon hiernach einen Bronzeguss ausführen, welcher in den 1960er Jahren auf dem Lützowplatz in Berlin aufgestellt wurde. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
