Lot 37 | Louis XV pendulum clock on console with chinoiseries
LOUIS XV PENDULUM CLOCK ON CONSOLE WITH CHINOISERIES. Date: Around 1760-70. Maker/Designer: Clock case Balthazar Lieutaud, Paris. Dial Gerard, Metz. Technique: Fire-gilt bronze applications, coloured lacquer paintings, Enamel dial. Description: Curved console richly adorned with volute décor. High rectangular, curved corpus with corresponding applications. Console, case and top with Vernis-Martin-décor in the form of fine polychrome chinoiseries with gold lacquer on a dark green fond. Round dial consisting of twelve cartouches with Roman numerals and Arabic minuterie grouped around a round centrepiece. Square shaped 14-day pendulum movement with anchor escapement, thread suspension and half-hour and hour strike on an overhead bell. Measurement: Height incl. console approx.123cm, width 45cm. Mark: Dial inscribed. "Gerard Pere A Metz" (Metz, approx.1765, Loomes p.297). Case stamped on the back "B. Lieutaud" (Balthazar Lieutaud, Paris, 1720 - 1780). Enclosed: P&K, as well as key for the front door. Literature:- Kjellberg, Pierre: Le Mobilier Français Du XVIII Siècle, Paris 1989. The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
