Öl auf Leinwand. Darstellung einer Gesindestube mit jagdlicher Ausstattung. Ein adeliger Knabe lauscht gespannt dem älteren Herrn, der die Rüstung für seinen Vater poliert und dem Jungen eine Geschichte erzählt, von der er ganz mitgenommen zu sein scheint. Rechts unten signiert "L. Langenschmit". Eine Retusche, die Leinwand an zwei Stellen beschädigt. Im massiven Rahmen aus vergoldetem Holz (leicht bestoßen). Verso auf altem Zettel wird der Knabe als der junge Georg von Frundsberg beschrieben. Bildmaße 62 x 48, Maße gerahmt 86 x 72 cm.
Ludwig Lindenschmit d.Ä. (1809 - 1893) war ein deutscher Maler und ein wichtiger Prähistoriker. Er studierte Kunst in München und Wien und widmete sich überwiegend der Historienmalerei.
Der Soldat Georg von Frundsberg (1473 - 1528) gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Infanterietaktiker Deutschlands.
