Two pages, 203 x 127mm, on a single leaf, in pencil. Provenance: Preserved by Hermine Wittgenstein (1874-1950); Sotheby's, 18 & 19 May 1989, lot 351.

The earliest recorded piece of writing by the young Ludwig Wittgenstein, preserved by his elder sister, Hermine. Comprising a series of doodles and writing exercises, some mirror-writing, including Wittgenstein practising writing his own name.
