Rome: Giacomo Marcucci per Giacomo Mascardi, 1626. A interesting treatise on the art of bleeding and the use of leech in therapeutic medicine first published in 1584. Good impression of the plates. 4to (205 x 140mm). Engraved title within architectural border, 11 plates and woodcut initials (minor restorations to small wormholes on title and in a few other parts, some light staining and few occasional wormholes). Contemporary limp vellum, manuscript title on spine (lacking ties, modern guards, some staining and worming). Provenance: early illegible ownership note at bottom margin of *3 and some other annotation among which "Matteo Gonzelli Nucerino" on verso of I3.
