Estimate value
€ 1 000 – 2 000
Magnificent crystal wine jug from the second half of the 19th century. The silver upper part of the decanter is decorated with an impressive relief image of mythological characters. The central place in the composition is occupied by the figure of Poseidon with a trident in his hands, symbolizing power and might. The handle of the decanter is made in the form of a winged dragon, which not only gives the product artistic expressiveness, but also performs a functional role - through the mechanism for opening the lid, masterfully hidden in silver. The body of the decanter is decorated with voluminous mascarons - stylized faces surrounded by elegant plant decor. The grapevine entwining the surface of the piece emphasizes its wine theme and adds a touch of symbolism associated with fertility and abundance. Hallmarks: city hallmark, letters BG, belonging to the famous Hamburg jeweler Bramfeld & Gutruff, which confirms its high quality and exceptional origin. Silver, gilding, crystal.
