Rare exhibition catalog signed by Magritte, Scutenaire, Hamoir with an interesting dedication by Colinet. The exhibition dates back to one of the most fruitful periods for the Belgian artist and the surrealist group signed togheter the dedication to Jim Frater: "To James Frater (ou, plutot a Jim) Le correcteur du Pont d'Heraclite, the allègre chiffoneur des papiers bruns, le nouveau Jeovah qui fait un homme rapide du carton immobile". It probably refers to the making of the painting " Le pont d'Héraclite " (present in the catalogue) to which the dedicatee, James William Frater (1887-1969), a pupil of Jan Toorop and collaborator of Mondrian and Escher, may have contributed. An interesting testimony of the first years of activity of the famous surrealist painter.
4to (243 x 160mm). 4 pages, portrait of Magritte and two photographic illustrations in text, Colinet's autograph dedication on cover to “Jim Frater” signed by Magritte, Scutenaire and Hamoir. Original wrappers (detached) [TOGHETER WITH:] a page of the "Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant, Woensdang 25 November 1936 where on the second page there is an article dedicated to the exhibition of the catalogue "Plastische Kunsten, Rene Magritte, Kunstzaal Esher Surrey".
