Man Ray arrive à Paris en 1921, l’année suivante il fait la connaissance de Kiki de Montparnasse, qui, en plus d’être son amante, deviendra son modèle et sa muse. Elle lui inspire un certain nombre d’œuvres mémorables, parmi lesquelles Le Violon d’Ingres, en 1924, que l’on considère aujourd’hui comme la plus célèbre des photographies surréalistes.
Dans son article ‘Les Violons d’Ingres de Man Ray. Une étude comparative des différents exemplaires connus’ in. Photographica n°7 (editions de la Sorbonne, juin 2023), Emmanuelle de l’Écotais précise qu’il existe trois exemplaires de cette version en sérigraphie : “Sérigraphie sur plastique, en couleurs : une cyan, une magenta et une noir et blanc, 65 × 55 cm, vers 1970, édition en trois exemplaires pour le noir et blanc, en deux exemplaires pour le cyan et en un exemplaire pour le magenta.”
Man Ray arrived in Paris in 1921, the following year, he met Kiki de Montparnasse. They become lovers, and she became his muse, the inspiration for and subject of a number of his most memorable images, notably Le Violon d’Ingres of 1924, which is considered today to be the most famous surrealist photograph.
In her article ‘Man Ray’s Violon d’Ingres. A Comparative Study of Various Known Prints’ in. Photographica n°7 (éditions de la Sorbonne, June 2023), Emmanuelle de l’Écotais indicated that there exists three copies of this version in silkscreen: “Silkscreen on plastic, in colors: one cyan, one magenta and one black and white, 65 × 55 cm, circa 1970, edition in three copies for black and white, in two copies for cyan and in one copy for magenta.”

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
