In Paris entstandenes Werk des Künstlers, der zur Avantgarde in Frankreich gehörte. Manuel Ortiz de Zárate, der aus einer musischen, chilenischen Familie stammte, studierte Malerei bei Pedro Lira und an der Escuela de Bellas Artes (Akademie der Schönen Künste) in Santiago de Chile. Mit 15 Jahren floh er von zu Hause, reiste als blinder Passagier auf einem Schiff nach Italien, studierte Malerei in Rom und lebte dort als Porträtmaler, bevor er 1904 Amedeo Modigliani traf, von der Kunstszene in Frankreich angezogen wurde und daraufhin 1906 nach Paris ging. Dort wurde er rasch Teil der wachsenden Künstlergemeinde im Viertel Montparnasse, schloss Freundschaften und Bekanntschaften mit Größen der Kunst- und Literaturwelt wie Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Amedeo Modigliani, Léonard Foujita, André Derain, Juan Gris, Henri Matisse, Max Jacob, Moise Kisling und Guillaume Apollinaire. Manuel Ortiz de Zárate studierte an der École des Beaux-Arts in Paris und entwickelte rasch seine modernen Kunstfähigkeiten in der künstlerischen Avantgarde. 1916 wurde er Picassos Assistent. Zwischen 1920 und 1940 stellte Ortiz de Zárate seine Werke im Salon d'Automne aus. Während des II. Weltkriegs blieb er trotz der deutschen Besatzung in Frankreich. Nach dem Krieg ging er in die USA, wo er 1946 in Los Angeles verstarb. Öl/Lwd.; R. u. sign.; 55 cm x 46 cm. Rahmen.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
