Beautiful edition of this successful biblical repertoire, written by the author with the aim of teaching the meaning, etymology, pronunciation, accents and morphology of all the difficult words in the Bible for the benefit of the minor clergy. The curious title metaphorically refers to babies who need to be weaned from their mother's milk.

4to (210 x 150mm). Rubricated in red with some large decorated initials (without blanks A1 and B10, some spotting). 18th-century binding with vellum spine. Provenance: Contemporary ownership inscription on the back of the colophon "Hoc liber est mon.ris sa.s iustine de Padua.." - 19th century notes on the back of the first plate.
