Approx. 18 × 18 × 18cm, original, 3-piece mahogany box with side carrying handles and original ivory plate No. 1037 L. Leroy & Cie., gimbal, brass housing, high-fine chronometer movement with spring detent escapement, signed and numbered, silvered dial with 49h power reserve indicator, gold hands, very good state of preservation, rarity. Louis Leroy was born in 1859, eldest son of a family with 14 children and has already been made in his youth with the manufacture of precision watches familiar. His father, Théodore-Marie Leroy worked as a chronometer maker known for the watches delivered to the Navy and a member of the Legion of honor was. He found Louis in his workshops, and this quickly became the Best of his apprentices. With nearly 16 years, he was in a competition of the Parisian watchmaker of the chamber, a watch that caused a stir, and at 20, he was a certified watchmaker.
