Approx. 17 × 17 × 18cm, 3-piece Mahagonibox fittings with brass fittings and brass handles, cardanic suspension, brass case, English chronometer movement with Spring chronometer escapement, original, signed, silvered dial with 56h power reserve indication, blued steel hands, passable, Revision recommended. Asmus Johannsen was born in Denmark and made in London, chronometers for the Navy of India, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria and China. His Work has been frequently submitted to the Greenwich Trials, where they were with good notes excellent. A marine chronometer by him is in the collection of the "Royal Museums Greenwich" in the National Marine Museum, No. 7709.
