Aus weißem Marmor gearbeiteter Deckel mit kreisrundem Fuß, Durchmesser 9,3 cm. Den länglich-ovalen Korpus umschließt oben und an den Seiten ein im Relief leicht hervortretendes, naturalistisch gearbeitetes Weinblatt mit Adern und Stängel. An dessen Ende erhebt sich ein profilierter Knopfgriff, der wieder angeklebt ist. Vorne rechts unterhalb des Blattes wohl die Künstlersignatur ANTIMACHOU, Werk des Antimachos. Am hinteren Rand unterhalb des Knopfgriffes zweizeilige Inschrift STYNOMO / POSTIDONI. Außergewöhnliches Werkstück eines griechischen Marmorbildhauers aus dem 4. vorchristlichen Jahrhundert. Vorne links antik bestoßen und kleine Fehlstelle. Feine Patina. Selten. Höhe 7,5 cm, Länge 18 cm.

A Greek marble lid with a vine leaf and inscription, 5th - 4th century B.C.
The lid made of white marble with a circular base, diameter 9.3 cm. The slightly protruding, naturalistic depiction of a vine leaf with veins and stalk in relief enclosing the elongated oval body at the top and sides. A contoured knob, re-affixed with adhesive, extending from the end of the leaf. Below the leaf at the front right, presumably the artist's signature ANTIMACHOU, made by Antimacho. The two-line inscription STYNOMO / POSTIDONI at the rear edge, below the knob. A remarkable workpiece by a Greek marble sculptor, dating from the 4th century B.C. An antique knock and small defect at the front left. Exquisite patina. Rare. Height 7.5 cm, length 18 cm.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
