Lot 7638 | Mauser C06/08 Versuchspistole mit Stützklappenverriegelung
Kal. 9mmMauserExport, Nr. 3, nummerngleich.
Ein "Must have" für jeden anspruchsvollen Sammler!

Mauser C06/08 prototype, flapper-locking system
Mauser C06/08 prototype, flapper-locking system
Cal. 9mmMauserExport, SN. 3, matching numbers. Barrel length 12 cm, bright bore with a few dull spots, four lands and grooves. Neither with Mauser nor any acceptance or proof markings. Flapper-locking system. The lower side of the barrel marked "7,85, 9,15,350". Original finish with some minor pitting caused by inadequate stocking, the interior well preserved, small parts with nice nitre-bluing, some with jeweled finish. Nickel-plated magazine for 8 rounds, marked "10". Cased in a mock-up photo album of blind stamped leather with floral and tendril decoration, gilt edges and a clamping bracket.
Only a few prototypes, each varying in little detail from the other, were ever built, which makes this an extremely rare gun, hardly every mentioned in standard literature. A true "must have" for the ambitious collector! Apart from our pistol with S/N 3 only S/N 1 is known to exist, albeit slightly differing from this model. See Harry Kaspar, "Mauser Pistolen Systeme", p. 396 and following, and Weaver, Speed, Schmid, "Mauser Pistolen", pages 64 - 65. A first-class rarity!
