First edition of this important treatise by Micheli, director of the Botanical Garden of Florence, of the botanical species present in the institute. It was published posthumously and edited by his pupil and future director of the garden, Giovanni Targioni Tozzetti.

Half-title, title printed in red and black with the engraved arms of Emperor Francis I, one large folding table, 7 engraved plates, and 2 engraved headpieces with views of the botanical garden, some wodcut initials and headpieces. Later half-vellum binding, uncut. Provenance: "comme elle est sans épines, elle est sans odeur" - SC (bookplate); stamp on half-title.
