Griechenland, um 1700
Massive Holztafel mit zwei aufgenagelten Rückseiten-Sponki (verloren). Eitempera auf Kreidegrund, Hintergrund vergoldet. 77,7 x 52,7 cm. In der oberen Bildmitte ist Christus, umgeben von einer runden Aureole mit stilisierten Strahlen, über dem Berg Tabor dargestellt. Zu seiner Rechten weist Elias mit beiden Händen
auf den Gottessohn, während seiner Linken Moses die Gesetzestafeln mit verhüllten Händen präsentiert. Die neben Christus stehenden Propheten Moses und Elias verkörpern hierbei als
Vertreter des alten Bundes die zwischen Gott und seinem Volk vermittelnden Vorläufer des Erlösers. Zu Füßen des Berges Tabor wurden die Apostel Petrus, Johannes und Jakobus von drei von Christus ausgehenden Strahlen getroffen und haben sich aus Furcht vor dem göttlichen Ereignis niedergeworfen. In der Mitte links ist der Aufstieg Christi mit den drei Aposteln auf den Berg dargestellt, rechts der Abstieg. Oben mit griechischem Bildtitulus. Min. vertikale Rissbildung.
