Hüftbild frontal, den Kopf nach rechts gewandt. In dunkelblauer Uniform mit roten Aufschlägen, auf der Brust die Sterne des Georgi-Ritter- und des Hubertusordens. Öl auf Lwd. 74,5 x 60 cm. Min. besch. Rest. Rahmen min. besch. (90 x 75 cm). Maximilian Joseph (1756 Mannheim - 1825 München) war das fünfte Kind des Pfalzgrafen Friedrich Michael von Zweibrücken-Birkenfeld (1724-1767) und seiner Gemahlin Maria Franziska von Pfalz-Sulzbach (1724-1894). Er heiratete 1785 in erster Ehe Prinzessin Wilhelmine von Hessen-Darmstadt (1765-1796), eine zweite Ehe schloss er 1797 mit Prinzessin Karoline von Baden (1776-1841). Da Kurfürst Karl Theodor von Bayern keinen erbberechtigten männlichen Erben hatte, trat 1799 Pfalzgraf Maximilian Joseph aus der Zweibrückener Linie der pfälzischen Wittelsbacher die Regierung in München an. Ihm gelang es, unterstützt von seinem Ersten Minister Maximilian Graf von Montgelas, das Land während der Napoleonischen Zeit sicher zu regieren und Bayerns Territorium vor allem durch Gebietszuwächse in Franken und Schwaben flächenmäßig zu verdoppeln. 1806 wurde er durch die maßgebliche Unterstützung Napoleons als Maximilian I. Joseph der erste König von Bayern.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
