Der Korpus aus dunklem Horn mit zweifach verstifteter Wandungsverstärkung aus Messing und Kupfer, im fein gedrechselten Boden Umschrift "Boite Francaise - Morel F.".
Der Deckel ebenfalls aus dunklem Horn (Spannungsriss) mit eingelegtem, rundem, vergoldetem Kupfermedaillon, darauf reliefierte Darstellung Napoleons, dem vor der Silhouette Regensburgs ein Verband an den rechten Fuß angelegt wird, am Unterrand betitelt. Durchmesser des Medaillons 7 cm, die Vergoldung überwiegend erhalten. Unter gewölbtem Glas. Durchmesser der Dose 8,5 cm.
Das 1810 entstandene Gemälde von Pierre-Claude Gautherot (1769 - 1825) hängt heute im Chateaux de Versailles.
