NATALI, Pietro (attivo 1370-1400) - Catalogus sanctorum. Vitas passiones & miracula commodissime annectens. Lyon: Egidio e Giacomo Huguetan, 1542. A renowned, elegantly printed and richly illustrated, Medieval encyclopedia of saints composed 1369-1372 by Petrus de Natalibus and first printed in Vicenza in 1493. Folio (310 x 208mm). Title printed in red and black, within historiated woodcut border, numerous woodcut illustrations in text including a large one showing the adoration of the Child by Hans Springinklee, woodcut vignette illustration at end (some worming at the bottom corner of title and following leaf, some other worming at top central corner in the middle of the work, some browning and staining heavier at beginning, ownership inscription removed on title). Later vellum, manuscript title on spine, blue edges (top joint split, some staining, chipping to spine).
