NATALIA YAKOVLEVNA DANKO 1892 Tiflis - 1942 Irbit A VERY RARE SOVIET PORCELAIN FIGURE 'THE FORTUNE TELLER' Soviet Union, Petrograd, State Porcelain Factory, A. E. Dietrich (modeller), 1922 Realistically modelled and overglaze painted. Underglaze green hammer and sickle stamp, signed in Cyrillic 'Diet' and dated '1922', number 'N 288/2'. The figure represents a gypsy woman predicting the future for a fashionably dressed lady. This subject carries a subtle irony and reflects an everyday scene that could be observed on the streets during the NEP (New Economic Policy) from 1921 to 1928. 19.8 cm high.

Dietrich (Bossierer), 1922 Porzellan, sehr feine polychrome Aufglasurbemalung. H. 19,8 cm. Unterglasurgrüner Manufakturstempel Hammer- und Sichel, in Kyrillisch signiert 'Diet', datiert '1922' und Nummerierung 'N 288/2'. Die Figur stellt eine Zigeunerin dar, die einer modisch gekleideten Dame die Zukunft voraussagt. Dieses Sujet trägt eine subtile Ironie in sich und spiegelt eine Alltagsszene wider, die während der NEP (Neuen Ökonomischen Politik) von 1921 bis 1928 auf den Straßen zu beobachten war.
