Ivory with finely carved and engraved, dark-colored Details, the eyes made of inlaid mother-of-pearl. Beautiful Golden-yellow Patina. A demon imprisonment distorted Kyôgen-mask with deep forehead furrows and wide inflated
Nose wings. Caricature of the O-Beshimi, a figure that is outwardly powerful, inwardly
however, rather shy. H. 3,8 cm. signed: Meike Jesse Ho & Kakihan (Tama-Form) of the Homin, see MCI, p. 187-188, Tokyo, active in 1840-60. Condition A.
