Lot 2252 Netsuke: Shishi
Japan. Edo Period. To 1800. Shishi typical Siniu-form seal netsuke. It wears like the Siniu no fur,
sits like this on a long neck stretched umgewandtem head and slightly opened
mouth with visible fangs on a flat, oval Base that bears a seal
. The top of the small tail leads Curls up to the short Shishi, the
on both sides of the spine in a curved line up to the mane made up of two curls rows
. From the joints of its legs, blaze, small flames. Ivory, finely carved
and engraved, dark, accented with beautifully shining, Golden-yellow, partly
