PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES AND AMERICAN POLITICIANS. A collection of fifteen letters and documents. Including:

ADAMS, John Quincy (1767-1848). Autograph letter signed ("John Q. Adams") as U.S. Ambassador to Prussia to [Sylvanus] Bourne, Berlin, 23 May 1801. 2 pages, 4to bifolium with integral address leaf in his hand. Returning to America and the birth of his son, George Washington Adams. Adams seeks "information whether there is at Amsterdam or Rotterdam any American vessel with convenient accommodations for passengers bound to Boston, or any other port of the eastern states, and to sail in the course of the month of July — I intended to have embarked at Hamburg, but for the want of an opportunity, shall perhaps find it advisable to go further. I am still to thank you for your very kind congratulations on the birth of my child … which I cordially return in behalf of his namesake your little son."

JACKSON, Andrew (1767-1845). Autograph letter signed ("Andrew Jackson" and "AJ" in postscript) to John Gale, Hermitage, 4 September 1839. 3 pages, 4to bifolium. On various financial matters and rejoicing in the election of James K. Polk as Governor of Tennessee after four years of a Whig administration, declaring that the state would "never again be deluded by demagogues & apostates."

VAN BUREN, Martin (1782-1862). Autograph letter signed ("M Van Buren") Lindenwald, 16 November 1844. Writing on the recent election of James Polk: "The general result of the election & particularly the whole conduct of New York has offered me much pleasure. There would have been no living with the Whigs if they had succeeded."

HARRISON, William Henry (1773-1841). Autograph letter signed ("W. H. Harrison") as U.S. Minister to Gran Columbia to Edward T. Tayloe, [Bogata,] 1 October 1829. 2 pages, 4to. (partial fold separations). Concerning his plans to return to the United States and remarking, "That scoundrel [Lewis] Cass will probably return here Mr Henderson having demanded his recall," and discussing other diplomatic matters.

TYLER, John (1790-1862). Autograph letter signed ("John Tyler") as Senator to J. L. Edwards, [Washington,] 8 June 1832. 1 page, 4to. Requesting information on the service of a veteran of the American Revolutionary War.

POLK, James (1795-1849). Autograph letter signed ("James K. Polk") as Speaker of the House , Washington, 29 April 1836. 1 page, 4to. Declining an invitation to visit Harper's Ferry.

TAYLOR, Zachary (1784-1850). Letter signed ("Z Taylor, Majr. Genl. U.S.A. Comdg.") to the Adjutant General of the Army, "Camp near Monterey," 23 June 1847. 1 page, 4to. On the relief of a Virginia regiment by one from Massachusetts on occupation duty.

FILLMORE, Millard (1800-1874). Autograph letter signed ("Millard Fillmore") to Secretary of the Treasury, Robert J. Walker, Buffalo, 28 April 1845. 1 page, 4to. (mounting strip along left margin). A letter of introduction for Capt. Henry Randall.

PIERCE, Franklin (1804-1869). Autograph letter signed ("Franklin Pierce") to George Sawyer, "Court Room" [Concord], 11 [April] 1851. 1 page, 4to. Regarding seating the court for the next term. * PIERCE, Franklin. Document signed ("Franklin Pierce") as President, Washington, 19 August 1854. 1 page, 4to. Ordering the Secretary of State to affix the Seal of the United States to a "Full Power to negotiate a Convention … with the Duke of Brunswick…"

BUCHANAN, James (1791-1868). Autograph letter signed ("James Buchanan") as Senator to J. P. Reynolds et al, Washington, 23 June 1838. 1 page. 4to. On his election as an honorary member of the "Erodelphian Society of Miami University…" * BUCHANAN, James. Letter signed ("James Buchanan") as Secretary of State to Jesse Chickering, Washington, 21 June 1847. 1 page, 4to. Regarding obtaining international passenger ship data for the years 1843 to 1846 from the records at the Massachusetts Historical Society and Harvard University.

CLAY, Henry (1777-1852). Autograph letter signed ("H. Clay") as Congressman to G. Gibson, Lexington, 11 October 1819. 1 page, 4to. Offering his recommendations grant an Army supply contract to "Col. N C. Nicholas"

WEBSTER, Daniel (1782-1852). Autograph letter signed ("Danl Webster") to Rev. Sprague, Washington, 14 April 1830. Concerning the merits the preaching skills of "Mr. Campbell".

HOUSTON, Samuel (1792-1863). Autograph letter signed ("Sam Houston") to N[icholas] Dean, Irving House, New York, 28 December 1851. 1 page, 4to. Regarding travel plans to Hartford and Buffalo and his hopes to see his correspondent on his return to New York.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
