SITZENDER KNABE
Gips, schwarz gefasst. H. 41,5 cm. Unter dem Stand signiert und datiert 'N. Kricke; 1949'. Am rechten Handgelenk rest., partiell mit min. Farbverlusten.
Norbert Kricke studierte bis 1946 an der Hochschule der Künste Berlin bei dem Bildhauer Richard Scheibe, dessen Meisterschüler er wurde. Dieser beeinflusste mit seiner Auffassung von der klassischen Skulptur das Frühwerk seines Schülers Kricke, zu welchem die hier präsentiert Gipsplastik 'SITZENDER KNABE' gehört. Nach dieser nur kurz andauernden Phase der figürlichen Skulptur fand Kricke, welcher 1964 als Professor an die Kunstakademie Düsseldorf berufen wurde, im filigranen, biegsamen Drahtgestell sein eigentliches plastisches Gestaltungsmittel. Ab den frühen 1950er Jahren knüpfte er mit seinen ersten Raumplastiken, bestehend aus aneinandergeschweißten, dynamisch in den Raum ausgreifenden Metallstäben in gerader, gebündelter oder verknoteter Form, an die Tradition der Konstruktivisten an.
