GEORGE CATLIN – MELODY, George Henry Curzon (d. 1860) and DEROINE, Jeffrey (1806-1859). Notice sur les Indiens Ioways, et Sur le Nuage Blanc, 1er chef de la Tribu. Paris: Imprimerie de Wittersheim, 1845.  First edition of a brochure documenting Catlin's exhibition of Native Americans in Paris, in original printed wrappers. Promoter G. H. C. Melody, working as the Western agent for P.T. Barnum, brought a troupe of Ioway men and women to Europe in conjunction with George Catlin; the Ioway Chief, White Cloud, selected the members of the party. They were accompanied by Jeffrey Deroine, an African American linguist and interpreter who was close with White Cloud. It is unclear who exactly initiated the tour; the Ioways, who knew Catlin from his earlier travels, had been devastated by the Treaty of 1836 and were seeking international recognition of their situation as well as income to repay debts. This publication documents their stop in Paris, where the Ioways performed for and met many French writers and artists, including George Sand and Victor Hugo. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
