Lot 4301 | OPHEY, Walter: Impressionistische Allee mit Staffage
Öl/Leinwand, rechts unten signiert, verso Reste eines Etiketts des
Kunstpalastes Düsseldorf. 66 x 71 cm, Goldstuckrahmen 80 x 85 cm.
Spazierende Personen unter dem farbkräftigen Blätterdach der Allee.
Zwei kleine restaurierte Stellen, eine Hinterklebung.
■ Deutscher Maler und Grafiker (1882 Eupen - 1930 Düsseldorf), wichtiger
Vertreter des Rheinischen Expressionismus. Studierte bei Reiff in Aachen sowie
an der Kunstgewerbeschule Aachen. Ging 1900 an die Akademie Düsseldorf zu
Roeber, Spatz und Dücker. Mitglied der Gruppe Sonderbund sowie bei der
Künstlervereinigung "Das Junge Rheinland". Reiste seit 1910 mehrfach nach
Italien.

■ Vgl. Kraus 1993, S. 200, G 236: "Allee aus Florenz". Das Gemälde war zum
Zeitpunkt der Erstellung des Werksverzeichnisses verschollen, die Maße nicht
bekannt. Es stammt aus dem Jahre 1910. Alle vorhandenen Angaben konnten durch
eine handschriftliche Werkliste aus dem Nachlass Orphey (AWP) gemacht werden.
Es war 1918 in Düsseldorf ausgestellt.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
