Spätromantische, idealisierte Ansicht von Kairo, bei der es sich um ein Frühwerk Oswald Achenbachs handeln dürfte, entstanden unter dem Einfluss und im Stil von Carl Rottmann und seinem Lehrer an der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie Johann Wilhelm Schirmer. Das Oeuvre Oswald Achenbachs ist bis 1850 kaum dokumentiert und erhalten. In seiner Biographie finden sich bisher keinerlei Hinweise auf eine Orientreise, eine Orientlandschaft oder ein ägyptisches Motiv. Dieses Gemälde entstand daher wahrscheinlich als Fantasievedute in seinem Düsseldorfer Atelier unter dem Einfluss der stärker einsetzenden Orientmode in der Malerei. Achenbach wurde nach seiner ersten großen Italien-Reise (1850) zu einem der bedeutendsten Landschaftsmaler Europas, zumal er 1863-1872 als Professor an der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie die nachfolgenden Malergenerationen prägte. Beeinflusst von William Turner und Gustave Courbet als seine Vorbilder fand er später zu einem auf die Gesamtstimmung angelegten Stil, zu intensiven Farb- und Lichteffekten, so dass Oswald Achenbach auch ein Wegbereiter des Impressionismus wurde. The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
