"Linden mit altem Fritz". Originaltitel
Blick auf die winterlich verschneite Prachstraße mit dem Reiterstandbild König Friedrich II. von Preußen im Morgenlicht, belebt durch zahlreiche Kutschen, Automobile und Passanten. Impressionistisches, mit weich-pastosem Farbauftrag ausgeführtes, 1920 entstandenes Hauptwerk aus einer Werkreihe mit Berlin-Motiven. Hierbei malte Pippel, vergleichbar mit seinen beiden Berliner Künstlerkollegen Max Liebermann und Lesser Ury, außer "Unter den Linden" auch eine Reihe weiterer Straßen und Plätze der pulsierenden Hauptstadt, deren Atmosphäre und Leben einfangend. Pippel, der in Karlsruhe und in Dresden u.a. bei Gotthard Kuehl studierte, war seit 1909 vornehmlich in Planegg bei München ansässig. 1911 debütierte Pippel im Münchener Glaspalast, wo er seitdem regelmäßig und vielfach ausstellte. Im selben Jahr wurde er Mitglied der Künstlervereinigung Luitpold-Gruppe. Charakteristisch für seinen Stil sind flimmernd wirkende Lichteffekte und ein dicht gesetzter, pastoser Farbauftrag in Spachteltechnik bzw. lockerem Pinselduktus. Bekannt wurde er insbesondere durch seine zahlreich gemalten Alpenlandschaften. Neben den Münchner Motiven mit Kaffee- und Biergartenszenen gehören auch Pippels Berlin-Ansichten zu den besonders gefragten Gemälden. Öl/Lwd.; R. u. sign. u. dat. 1920 mit Ortsangabe Berlin. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
