Owusu-Ankomah ist ein Künstler zwischen zwei Welten. Geboren 1956 in Ghana, lebt und arbeitet er seit den 1980er Jahren in Deutschland. Seine Werke, die oft auf großformatigen Leinwänden entstehen, vereinen afrikanische Traditionen mit westlichen Einflüssen und sind von einer tiefen Spiritualität geprägt. Besonders bedeutsam für seine künstlerische Entwicklung war die Auseinandersetzung mit den Symbolen der Akan-Kultur sowie die intensive Beschäftigung mit metaphysischen Themen. In den 1990er Jahren wurden Owusu-Ankomahs Arbeiten durch die "Movement"-Serie bekannt. Diese Gemälde, meist in Schwarz-Weiß gehalten, zeigen kraftvolle Figuren, die mit ornamentalen Mustern verschmelzen. Diese geometrischen Muster sind dabei nicht nur ästhetisches Element, sondern tragen eine tiefere Bedeutung: Sie stehen für das Wissen und die Symbolik der Akan-Kultur, die sich in der gesamten afrikanischen Diaspora wiederfindet. Owusu-Ankomahs Werke sind eine Reflexion über Identität, Spiritualität und die Verbindung von Vergangenheit und Gegenwart. Mit der Einführung des von ihm geschaffenen Symbols des "Microcron" erreichte Owusu- Ankomah eine neue philosophische Ebene. Der Kreis aus Kreisen, wie er ihn beschreibt, steht für ein universelles Ordnungssystem, das Mensch, Natur und Kosmos verbindet. Diese universelle Dimension seiner Kunst machte Owusu-Ankomah international bekannt, und seine Arbeiten wurden auf bedeutenden Biennalen in Dakar, Havanna und Johannesburg ausgestellt. Ein besonderes Beispiel für die Verbindung von Kunst und Gesellschaft ist sein Gemälde zur Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft 2006. Mit den charakteristischen Adinkra-Symbolen aus Westafrika, die sich mit der kräftigen Figur verbinden, griff er die Bedeutung des Sports als verbindendes Element zwischen Kulturen auf. Das Bild zeugt von der Energie und Leidenschaft, die der Fußball weltweit auslöst. Owusu-Ankomahs Werke sind unmittelbar und kraftvoll, sie überfallen den Betrachter förmlich mit ihrer Präsenz. Die monumentalen, athletischen Figuren erinnern in ihrer Körperlichkeit an Michelangelo, während ihre ornamentale Verzierung und Einbettung in komplexe Muster die tiefe Verwurzelung des Künstlers in der afrikanischen Symbolik zeigt. Seine Kunst ist eine Einladung zu einer Reise in die Vergangenheit, eine poetische Rekonstruktion der afrikanischen Identität und ihrer globalen Verflechtungen. Indem er afrikanische und westliche Kunsttraditionen miteinander verbindet, erschafft Owusu-Ankomah eine universelle Bildsprache, die weit über geografische und kulturelle Grenzen hinausgeht. Seine Werke sind nicht nur ästhetisch beeindruckend, sondern tragen eine tiefere Botschaft von Einheit, Spiritualität und kulturellem Erbe in sich.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
