Édition originale. L’ouvrage reprend le titre d’un opuscule du savant saxon Georg Bauer (1494-1555), dont le De re Metallica avait paru en 1556, et qui est considéré comme l’ouvrage pionnier dans les domaines de la minéralogie et de la métallurgie. Il est d’ailleurs en partie composé de traductions de son prédécesseur, et y fait fréquemment référence.
L’ouvrage est imprimé par Pierre Cosin, imprimeur français associé à Alonso Gómez. Les deux hommes sont les fondateurs de la première imprimerie madrilène.
Certains bibliographes (dont USTC, voir n° 346203) font état d’une édition de 1568, qui serait connue à deux exemplaires en institutions. L’un d’eux, accessible en ligne, correspond en fait à l’édition de 1569 en termes de collation, typographie et maquette, mais il lui manque la page de titre. La date est donc basée sur l’achevé d’imprimé au colophon, mais il est bien plus vraisemblable qu’il s’agisse de l’édition de 1569, qui est donc l’originale.

In-8 (133 x 83 mm). Une quinzaine de bois dans le texte (alambics et autres ustensiles de chimie), quelques lettrines, marque de l’imprimeur (exemplaire court de marges et lavé, quelques restaurations, l’une importante dans le texte au feuillet D3 et une moindre au feuillet X7, une troisième en marge inférieure du feuillet CC2).
Reliure signée de Caiero : maroquin ébène, décor doré et mosaïqué de maroquin vert, dos à nerfs, caissons ornés d’un décor similaire, gardes de papier marbré, tranches dorées (dos légèrement passé), étui.
Provenance : ex-libris manuscrit ancien sur la page de titre, dont la lecture est difficile suite au lavage des feuillets de l’exemplaire. Manicules anciennes et notes de lecture marginales – Manuel de Foronda (1840-1920 ; ex-libris).

First of all, you should register to be able to purchase at auction. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
