Model of 1884, the execution of the end 19. Century Bronze with black Patina, h. 37 cm and 44.5 cm, signed J. Uphues, foundry stamp 'Aktien-Gesellschaft Beck Berlin-friedrichshagen' or 'share gladen society. Gladen Beck Of Berlin. Kl. Def. - The recent research re-discovered sculptor created the antique-inspired Motif of the Archer in 1884, and received in Melbourne in 1889, the gold medal. Of the Statuette of 6 copies in different versions are known, is the bronze foundry gladen Beck, offered in various sizes.

Joseph Uphues ( Sassenberg 1850 - Berlin, 1911 ) . A German Sculptor. As a master student of Reinhold Begas Uphues estimated was a monument to the designer of the Wilhelmine era. Starting in 1892, he maintained a private Atelier in Berlin and was a member of the Berlin secession.
