A PAIR OF FINELY CAST AND DETAILED WORKED PAIR OF BRONZE VASES BY SUZUKI CHOKICHI (1848-1919) - Japan, signed to base Kako chu, Meiji period - Cast and finished with elaborate beaked beast handles with protruding tongues and set on multi-registered incorporated stands, the large panels decorated with birds of prey on pine and maple trees, the feathers and surface of the trees rendered in a naturalistic manner, the eyes in gold and shakudo and the reverse with swallows and a pheasant in flight, the remaining surface decorated with geometric lozenge patterns, key-frets and lappets, signed Kako chu on the underside. - Bavarian private property, bought at Bonhams New York, 14.9.2016, lot 221 One of the most celebrated monumental bronze casters of the Meiji era, from around 1900 Suzuki Chokichi seems to have worked at a less monumental scale and in a more refined manner, as here. The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
