Technique: Silver.
Description: Each with stepped foot with curved corners. Faceted baluster shaft with correspondingly
designed spout on top. On the thin rim of each foot owner's gravure: "E.D.N. 1740" and on
the topside of the foot engraved coat of arms with wreath under helmet crown.
Weight: Ca. 690g.
Measurement: Height each 17,5cm.
Mark: Inspection mark Hanover (comp. Scheffler, Lower Saxony no.1366), maker's mark Neyen für Joachim Neyn (working 1727 until approximately 1730, ibid. no.37).
Provenance:
Private collection Westphalia.
- Both in beautiful, age-typical condition with the corresponding rubbing and fine, superficial scratches. - One of the two candlesticks with a slightly bent foot rim, therefore the stand somewhat wobbly.
