Kräftige, beidseitig doppelt gekehlte Damastklinge (gereinigt, narbig, berieben), terzseitig der Qualitätsnachweis "Eisenhauer Schlagfrei", am Rücken der Lieferant "A. Franz Würzburg". Mehrspangiges Messinggefäß, im Korb die bekrönte Herrscherchiffre "L", belederter Griff mit feiner Kupferdrahtwicklung, auf dem Stichblatt die Widmungsgravur "Das Kadettencorps In Dankbarer Anerkennung Dem Reitlehrer Ludwig Freih. v. Würtzburg" und "16.V.1868". Anhängendes, bayerisches Portepee. Eisenscheide (narbig, abgezogen, kleine Dellen, Reparatur am Ort) mit zwei beweglichen Trageringen. Leicht beschädigt, Altersspuren. Gesamtlänge 107 cm. Edles Unikat.
Freiherr Ludwig Veit von Würtzburg (* 24.9.1845 in Mergentheim; † 11. Januar 1922 in Hohenaschau) entstammte der Adelsfamilie Würtzburg und wirkte als Parlamentarier im Königreich Bayern.
The sturdy Damascus blade with double fullers on both sides (cleaned, pitted, abraded), the quality certification "Eisenhauer Schlagfrei" on the obverse, the supplier "A. Franz Würzburg" on the spine. Swept brass knuckle-bow hilt, the crowned sovereign's cipher "L" in the basket hilt, leather-covered grip with fine copper wire winding, the guard plate engraved with the dedication (tr.) "To our riding instructor Ludwig Freih. v. Würtzburg from the cadet corps In grateful appreciation" and "16.V.1868". Attached Bavarian sword knot. Iron scabbard (pitted, sanded, small indentations, a repair to the chape) with two movable suspension rings. Slightly damaged, signs of age. Total length 107 cm. Exquisite, unique piece.
Freiherr Ludwig Veit von Würtzburg (born 24th September 1845 in Mergentheim; died 11th January 1922 in Hohenaschau) was descended from the noble Würtzburg family and served as a parliamentarian in the Kingdom of Bavaria.
