Superbe reliure du XVIIIe siècle, ornée aux petits fers. Elle habille une série de pamphlets anti-français qui fleurirent durant la guerre de Succession d’Espagne (1701-1714), en particulier au moment de la formation de la Grande Alliance, coalition de nombre de puissances européennes contre Louis XIV.
Le volume présente un titre général mais aussi des pages de titre individuelles, ce qui pourrait laisser supposer que c’est une réunion de plusieurs pamphlets. Leurs titres sont sans ambiguïté sur la position de leurs auteurs : « Appendice de l’almanac roial, ou l’année victorieuse des alliez, de 1706, contre le soleil éclipsé et couchant de France », ou ce savoureux « vacarme au Trianon, ou le nouvel hotel des filles & fils naturels de Louis le Soleiller, pour le consoler à l’égard de son Mars infortuné en Europe ».
En 1898, le Bulletin Morgand attribuait la superbe reliure à Albert Magnus (1642-1689), l’un des relieurs hollandais les plus célèbres du XVIIIe siècle. Cette attribution ne peut qu’être inexacte compte tenu des connaissances actuelles sur la vie de Magnus. Anonyme, la reliure reste d’une grande qualité, avec de riches décors d’encadrement aux petits fers se déployant en circonscrivant un médaillon central composé d’éventails.
Petit in-folio (306 x 206 mm). 42 planches gravées en taille-douce. Reliure de l’époque : maroquin rouge, riche décor d’encadrements aux roulettes et petits fers, se déployant autour d’un grand médaillon central aux éventails, dos à nerfs, caissons ornés, gardes de papier marbré, tranches dorées (dos passé, usures aux charnières, frottements aux nerfs, manques au caisson de tête).

First of all, you should register to be able to purchase at auction. Choose a lot from the upcoming auction and the maximum amount you want to place on it. After confirmation of your choice, we will send your application by e-mail to the appropriate auction house. If the auction house accepts a request, it will participate in the auction. You can view the current status of a bid at any time in your personal account in the "Bids" section.
Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the section "Auction information".
The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
