Patek Philippe. An exceptionally rare, unusual and early 18K gold half-skeletonized openface keyless lever watch with rock crystal dial

Signed Patek Philippe & Co., Genève, movement no. 29’685, manufactured in 1866, the case with London hallmarks for 1888

Movement: cal. 19’’’, manual, 17 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, signed

Dial: rock crystal with gilt Roman numerals on black reserves

Case: engine-turned hinged back with engraved monogram, knurled band, English maker’s mark JW, hinged gold cuvette, punch numbered 6407, 51 mm. diam.

With: Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with rock crystal dial and knurled case band in 1866 and its subsequent sale on 27 January 1868
