Gebirgslandschaft mit heimkehrendem Bauern und seinem Sohn
Sommerliche, subtil eingefangene Landschaft mit mächtigem, altem Bauernhof. Paul Weber gehört zu den bedeutendsten Landschaftsmalern der 2. Hälfte des 19. Jhs. und frühen Vertretern des Naturalismus. 1842-1844 studierte er an der Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main bei Jakob Becker, gemeinsam mit Anton Burger ging er nach München, wo er bis 1848 die Akademie besuchte. Seine künstlerische Ausbildung schloss er bei Josephus Laurentius Dyckmans und Gustave Wappers in Antwerpen ab. 1849 ging er in die USA, bereiste das Landund wurde seit 1854 in Philadelphia ein renommierter Maler, der auch an der dortigen Akademie lehrte. 1861 kehrte er nach Deutschland zurück, ließ sich zunächst in Darmstadt, 1872 in München nieder. Privat unterrichtete er seinen Schwiegersohn Phillip Röth, der ihn zusammen mit Eugen Bracht auf Malreisen begleitete. Seit 1864 reiste Weber mehrmals nach Paris, malte auch in Fontainebleau und lernte dort Künstler der Schule von Barbizon wie Jean-François Millet kennen. In München schilderte er mit Vorliebe oberbayerische Landschaften, oft aus der Umgebung, die durch Tier- oder Menschenstaffage belebte. Öl/Lwd.; R. u. sign.; 60,5 cm x 95 cm. Rahmen.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
