Lot 175 | Mother-of-pearl Nécessaire à Couture from the workshops of the Palais Royal in Paris (attributed)
Mother-of-pearl Nécessaire à Couture from the workshops of the Palais Royal in Paris
(attributed)

France, c. 1810, designed by the Palais Royal, Paris (attributed), mother-of-pearl, 10 gold and silver sewing tools, crystal glass flaconi, 15 x 18 x 5 cm, inner mirror, lower lid and scissors partially repaired at a later date. The sewing necessaire is attributed to the renowned workshops of the Palais Royal, which were known for their luxurious products in the early 1800s. The use of precious materials and the complex designs made these pieces particularly sought-after by the wealthy French elite, who dictated the standard of good taste for an entire era.
