Persinger, Louis (1887-1966, US-amerikanischer Violinist und Pianist). Original-Photographie alt auf Karton montiert und auf diesem mit eigenhändiger Widmung von L. Persinger für die Opernsängerin u. Komponistin Elsa Gregory. (Berlin 1912). 12 x 16,5 cm. Blattgr. 37,5 x 27,5 cm.
Louis Persinger studierte am Konservatorium Leipzig und bei Eugène Ysaÿe in Brüssel. Und war danach Konzertmeister des Berliner Philharmonischem Orchesters und des Royal Opera Orchestra in Brüssel, bei Ausbruch des Ersten Weltkrieges kehrte er wieder in seine Heimatstadt San Francisco zurück. Seit 1915 war er Konzertmeister des San Francisco Symphony Orchestra und von 1916 bis 1928 Leiter der Chamber Music Society San Francisco. 1930 trat er die Nachfolge von Leopold v. Auer in der New Yorker Juilliard School an. L. Persinger war Lehrer zahlreich bedeutender Violinisten des 20. Jahrhunderts, darunter Yehudi Menuhin, Isaac Stern, Camilla Wicks, Almita Vamos, Frances Magnes, Sonya Monosoff und Louise Behrend. - Rückseitig mit mont. Programm für ein Konzert am 7.
