Portrait einer Lady
Öl auf Leinwand, wohl um 1650
134 x 105,5 cm, Rahmen: 154 x 126 cm
Alastair Lang schrieb in einer e-mail im Jahre 2012: "I think that the Portrait of a Lady in blue at a putto-fountain most probably is by Lely - an early picture of around 1650. ...There is just a possibility that the portrait could be by Lely's early rival, Weesop (about whom very little is known)." Mit Weesop ist John WEESOP (aktiv 1641-1649) gemeint.

Expert opinions: Handwritten expertise (in German) by Dr. Paul Wescher (1896-1974): "I consider the painting of a young lady with Cupid in the background to be a characteristic and flawless work by the English court painter Peter Lely, who after van Dyck was the preferred portraitist of English society."
