In weich-pastosem Pinselstrich und impressionistischer Manier gemalte Darstellung der feinfühlig charakterisierten, dunkelhaarigen Schönheit, die sich selbstsicher und offenherzig lächelnd auf weißen Kissen präsentiert, die die Assoziation von Wolken heraufbeschwören. Swyncop studierte ab 1892 an der Akademie in Brüssel bei Jean-François Portaels und Constant Montald, deren Einflüsse besonders in der Darstellung von weiblichen Figuren und einem reizvollen Farbenspiel eminent sind. Der belgische Künstler unternahm ausgedehnte Studienreisen quer durch Europa und lebte eine Zeit lang in Spanien. Er war Mitglied der Künstlergruppe "Le Sillon" und beteiligte sich rege an den belgischen Salonausstellungen. Öl/Lwd.; L. ob. sign. u. dat. 1944. 60,5 cm x 100,5 cm. Rahmen.
