Ink drawing. 29 x 44,5 cm. Unframed. Lo. ri. sign. Alechinsky in pencil, mounted to backing paper. Mounted. - Belgian painter and graphic artist. A. studied typography, illustration and photography at the Brussels Academy from 1944-48. In 1949 he joined the artist group CoBRA. With a scholarship, he was able to continue his studies, particularly in graphic techniques, in Paris in 1951. It was there that he first came into contact with Japanese calligraphy, which played a significant role in the development of his ornamental and symbolic style. He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 2006 and received the Praemium Imperiale in 2018. Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
