Designed 1965, made around 1977/82. Bronze, goldbrown patinated. 13 x 24 x 10 cm. Sign. Schumann. The motif first appeared in Schumann's work in 1965 in a plaster version, followed by editions in bronze in 1977 and 1982 and later also in various types of marble - Literature: Karrer, Siegfried. Pierre Schumann, Skulpturen in Marmor und Bronze. Salzburg, 2003, p. 142/143 - German sculptor. Trained at the Hochschule f. Bildende Künste Hamburg under E. Scharff and at the Stuttgart Academy under O. Baum, 1954-1964 he stayed in Paris. Since 1955 he worked as a freelance artist in Hamburg in his studio at Lerchenfeld, 1974 he moved to Sagau-Kassedorf near Eutin, since 1964 he had another studio in Carrara. - Schumann created sculptures and wall designs, his preferred material was marble.
