Öl auf Leinwand. Hüftbild des bayerischen Generals im vollen Harnisch mit umgelegtem hermelingefütterten Samtmantel und mit angelegten Insignien des Hausritterordens vom Heiligen Georg. Oberfläche krakeliert, leichte Kratzer und Fehlstellen am unteren Rand. In späterem, zum Teil vergoldetem Profilrahmen. Bildmaße 63 x 81 cm, Maße gerahmt 73 x 91 cm. Qualitätvolles Portrait.
Franz Ludwig von Holnstein war ein bayerischer Graf, General und der natürliche Sohn von Kurfürst bzw. Kaiser Karl Albrecht von Bayern aus der Verbindung mit Maria Caroline Charlotte von Ingenheim.

Three-quarter length portrait of the Bavarian general in full armour, an ermine-lined velvet coat draped around his shoulders, wearing the insignia of the Knightly House Order of St. George. Surface with craquelures, slight scratches and flaws at the lower edge. In a later, partly gilt profile frame. Dimensions of painting 63 x 81 cm, dimensions of frame 73 x 91 cm. High-quality portrait.
Franz Ludwig von Holnstein was a Bavarian count, general and the natural son of Elector/Emperor Karl Albrecht of Bavaria from the latter’s liaison with Maria Caroline Charlotte von Ingenheim.
