PORCELAIN CHESS PIECE SET BASED ON A HISTORICAL MODEL, 2nd half of the 20th century, Thuringia, designed by Gustav Oppel (1891-1971), porcelain in hand-made polychrome stafage, Mr. When designing the design, Oppel attached great importance to the historically correct rendering of the costumes. The historical model was the conflict between King Henry VIII of England and King Francis I of France in the first half of the 16th century, all figures under the floor Marked with a blue manufacturer's mark and an "R" sealed in the art fair.
