Feuervergoldeter Messingrahmen mit Rankendekor. Oben blau/weiß emaillierte Chiffre der späteren Kaiserin unter Krone. Rückseitig Herstellergravur "C.H. Preetz Berlin", Aufsteller und Aufhängering. Im Rahmen unter Glas ein Foto von Auguste Viktoria mit Prägestempel der Hof-Fotografen "Reichard & Lindner Berlin 1885" sowie Tintensignatur "Victoria Princess W. of Prussia / June 21 1887". Rückendeckel mit weißem Seidenrips bezogen. Emaille gechipt, Foto und Rahmen fleckig, Vergoldung berieben, Gebrauchs- und Altersspuren. Bildmaße 21,5 x 13,5 cm, Rahmenmaße 34,5 x 23 cm. Sehr selten.
Auguste Viktoria (1858 - 1921) war durch ihre Großmutter mütterlicherseits eine Großnichte der britischen Königin Victoria. Am 27.2.1881 heiratete sie in Berlin Prinz Wilhelm von Preußen (1859 - 1941).

Fire-gilt brass frame with tendril decoration. The top with cypher of the later empress enamelled in blue and white underneath a crown. On the reverse engraved with manufacturer’s mark "C.H. Preetz Berlin", with stand and suspension ring. Inside the frame a photograph of Auguste Viktoria under glass, embossed with stamp of the court photographer "Reichard & Lindner Berlin 1885" as well as ink signature "Victoria Princess W. of Prussia / June 21 1887". The back covered with white ribbed silk. Enamel chipped, photograph and frame stained, gilding rubbed, traces of wear and age. Dimensions of photograph 21.5 x 13.5 cm, dimensions of frame 34.5 x 23 cm. Very rare.
Auguste Viktoria (1858 - 1921) was a grandniece of the British Queen Victoria through her grandmother on her mother’s side. On 27 February 1881, she married Prince Wilhelm of Prussia (1859 – 1941) in Berlin.
