Only edition, one of only two works from Dominicus Siliprandus’ press. Following Aristotle’s genre of problemata, Plutarch discusses various aspects of life in antiquity in what are now often called his Roman and Greek questions. Mostly religious in nature, some of the questions address scientific fields, such as how time is measured and calendars created. Chancery quarto (202 × 140mm). 66 leaves (c3v’s text has changed places with c5v’s and c4’s with c6’s due to imposition error as in BMC’s third copy, remnant of tab on a1, small marginal repair on h10, few light stains and spotting). 19th-century pebbled morocco, gilt frame and supralibros on both covers, gilt titling and compartment ornamentation on spine, edges gilt, dentelles, marbled endpapers (some scratches and wear at extremities).
