summer-of-way, deciduous trees, probably the game in the Park of Schloss Bellevue in Berlin, minimal impasto landscape painting, Oil on canvas, lower left dated and ortsbezeichnet and signed ”Bellevue d. 15.8.(18)63 F. Schauss”, according to the previous owner details from the estate of the granddaughter of the artist, Craquelure, unframed, dimensions are approx 52.5 x 42 cm. Artist info: Schauss, dt. Portrait and genre painter (1832 Berlin until 1916, Berlin), studied at the Academy in Berlin under Carl Steffeck, in 1856, a student of Léon Cogniet at the École des beaux Arts in Paris, undertook study trips to England, Holland, Belgium, Italy and Spain, 1874-76 Professor at the Grand Ducal Saxon art school, Weimar, 1876 returning to Berlin, fed the Large Berlin art exhibitions and 1869-1916 the exhibitions in the glass Palace of Munich, a member of the Association of Berlin artists, active in Berlin, source: Thieme-Becker, Boetticher, Miller-Singer, Klunzinger-Seubert, Seubert, Saur, Dressler, author of ”The Weimar school of painting”, and Wikipedia.
